FitFocus Software: Evaluating Activities for Active Healthy Living
Health Canada provides active living recommendations to keep Canadians healthy.
FitFocus was developed to help teachers and students compare daily activities to Canadian active living guidelines.
Some features:
Incorporates physical activity guidelines in the Health Canada Physical Activity Guide to Healthy Active Living
Contains data on almost 600 activities including work, every day living and recreation from Anishinaabe dancing to mowing the lawn and weight lifting.
An Age Equivalents feature that shows how "Active" people often have the same exercise capacity as "Sedentary" people who are decades younger
Extensive risk and benefit information illustrating the degree of health benefits associated
the level of physical activity entered into FitFocus for a population that
sustains that level of activity for an extended period. A powerful indication of the long term
benefits of an active lifestyle.
